The wife and I with our 2 kids are going up and looking for input on 1 day trip on the 19th. We are no speed demons as kids and wife are new to any hard core running so I hate to hold others back. Tips on a nice day trip with minimum back tracking would be appreciated.

Recommendations would be appreciated.

No recommendations? Maybe we should go somewhere else tomorrow?

Larry - Pick up a Vilas County map when you get up there and look at some loop routes that you could take. Trail 15 north to 6 to Presque Isle all the way around to Manny Waters. I would recommend trail 2 either direction you do the loop. Trail 8 through Manny Waters should still be good, especially befroe the weekend traffic. Trail 51 down to Arbor Vitea is also nice, take that to Trail 3? and or 6? to Big Arbor Vitae Lake. There is a handful of places to stop on the lake. Trail 8 going east towards conover is also usually nice.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Heading out in 1 hour. This is the first trip of this type for the family and the kids are as excited as I am.

LarryD ,
Try east from boulder Jct. to Land O Lakes then west on 6 to Bents Camp which is a nice stop. Continue west on 6 to Presque Isle and down to Mantatowish Waters another nice stop. Take trail 2 back east to Boulder Jct. Great loop ride and usually great trails. If you need a room try Boulder Jct. Motor Lodge. Very clean and family oriented. Dan and Renee' are great. Good Luck, Scott

Just got back. Had a good time. Trails were getting slushy/dirty with the sun and warm weather. Swung around Land O Lakes, Conover, Start Lake and Stillwaters, Sayner and back to Boulder Jct.

Went out and caught a bunch of Walleys Sat PM with my brother so there were some pretty tired kids riding back today.

I shall return.
