Default That time again...What are you paying for propane?

So I just got a letter from our propane supplier, saying that we could lock in at $1.499 a gallon. I looked back and last winter we were locked in at 1.249 a gallon. Does not seem like a great deal to me, but I know the price can fluctuate and was wondering what others pay and if they think 25 cents more a gallon is reasonable, seeing as though the price is steadily going up over time?

    Thanks in advance!

My supplier, here in central WI, is .78 for 500-999 gallons. I have a 1000 gal. tank, so that's the price I watch. It's .05 more for under 500 gal., .05 less for over 1000 gal. It's a little early for me to fill, I'll wait and see if it comes down a little yet. At some point they set the price for the summer, and it won't go down any more, maybe it's there already.

Since I never bought my own tank I'm stuck with what our supplier wants...last yr was 1.29 / gal...no idea on this yr yet...there is a co-op in our area and those guys paid 1.15/gal last yr but that would require a $3k or more investment I'm not inclined to make to save less than $900 on a yr, maybe less depending upon usage...

BTW we just got filled last week (keep-fill program, 1k tank) so we're good until late fall or so...unless a SERIOUS power outage...22kw stand-by generator uses quite a bit, eh?

It would be nice to see a LNG option for residential homes to spice some competition pricing...

Is that possible? I'm a real rookie on the subject.
I worked in a facility that used LNG for boilers, etc. There was a fair amount of equipment involved with processing the LNG.

I agree, it would be nice to have options. We had some supply issues last fall in our region with extra drying demand.
It is tough to know when to book for next fall/winter. I'm not sure how supply could be affected by reduced activity in the oil patches?

Our local LP provider sent out a letter that said LP prices could spike this winter due to covid related supply issues. I can pre-buy winter lp for 1.19 and I think I will probably buy 1500 gallons.
