    Default Cordless Electric Snow Blower

I don't have a snow blower. I have a snow plower come and do my driveway, but I still have to do my path by hand. I use my yooper scooper for that. In my old age I'm considering getting a snow blower for my path, but I don't want gas and all that mess. I'm interested in a two stage electric cordless snow blower.

At one time Ariens came out with a 2 stage battery model. I believe it was on the market for only a year or two. So in doing some research, I didn't find much out there. I see Sno Joe has a two stage cordless model that has been around for awhile. I also see that EGO is coming out with a cordless 2 stage model this year with dual batteries. I have watched videos of the Snow Jo and I wasn't impressed. There is very little out there on the EGO model, only a video of someone blowing sawdust.

I'm kind of impressed by the EGO 2 stage model. I already have an EGO cordless lawn mower and leaf blower so I will have extra batteries. However, it is quite expensive when compared to the Sno Jo. I noticed Pats Motor Sports is listed as a dealer for EGO. Does that mean they also service them?

Anyway, does anybody have any experience with any cordless electric snowblowers?

    Here is link to model.

How long is your path? It looks like the price is a bit above comparable models from Ariens. I know, apples to oranges, but Ariens is considered by many as the gold standard of snowblowers. If you're just doing a pathway and you already have spare batteries, I'd go for it. I've heard nothing but good things regarding Pat's, maybe one of their guys can jump in here.

I have a single stage battery one from Menards. It works ok. Need two batts to get drivway done. If its more than 4 or 5 inches deep i get the gas one out. I primarily bought it for the deck.

A lot of the cordless snowblowers out there are seriously downsized versions of the gas powered models and understood why, asking a 2 stage snowblower to be cordless in my opinion is asking a lot of a battery supply and my guess why they aren't very prevalent. I may be a little partial because I am a dealer for them but have you checked out the toro 60v cordless single stage? I have tried many and this one exceeds the rest, very close in size and performance to its gas powered twin. I assume one of the reasons why you are looking for 2 stage is the fact that its self propelled, there will be some pushing required on the toro, but I assure you, and not just because I am a dealer you will not be disappointed by the performance of the 60v cordless toro snowblower

I can't speak to the Ego snow blower specifically, but I absolutely love my Ego trimmer and leaf blower. They make the best battery powered equipment IMO. Great quality and much more power than you would expect from a battery unit. If anyone gets a battery powered snow blower "right" it would be Ego.

For those that don't know EGO is switching from Home Depot to Lowe's. I believe Ace Hardware also sells EGO. I just looked at Lowe's and they have all 3 main size batteries. 2.5ah, 5.0ah, 7.5ah. Amazon also sells these EGO batteries. The batteries are very expensive. And yes, I'm very concerned about customer service, but so far all my EGO products are working fine.

By the way, Sno Jo is just coming out with a new 2 stage cordless snow blower, and will be sold by Home Depot. It will be a rival to the EGO model. It is so new not in stores yet.

Interesting. I've only needed to call them once and they took great care of me. That was 5+ years ago thou, so maybe they have gone downhill.

I don’t take anything for granted anymore. Life after and with Covid is a different ballgame. I haven’t seen any customer service that has gotten better many services seem to be operating on a shoestring.

You don't want "gas and all that mess"? What mess? I open the cap, pour gas in, pull rope one time, clear snow, park snowblower. My current snowblower is 10 years old, and has started on the first pull every single time.
