This is an update for Superior Snowmobile Club (Greenland/Mass City/Twin Lakes) trail work scheduled for Sept. 16, 17 and 18.
Yes, if you have ATV and can bring, it will be useful. If you do not have ATV, most areas can be reached on the trail by other vehicle. Yes, you will need to have Michigan ATV trail permit $16.25. (sorry, can't get around this as it is governed by DNR).
Tools that will be useful, if you have-chain saw, loping shears, screw gun, post hole digger.
Free lodging has been offered by Wildlife Refuge Cabins in South Range 906-482-1001 and Krupp's Resort in Twin Lakes 906-288-3404. If you haven't made your reservation, please call as soon as possible.
For the trail workers on Friday, Parkview Lodge and Mosquito Inn is providing free trail lunch.
On Saturday, Deb at Krupp's Mini-Mart and Dawn Novak (wife of one of our volunteer groomer operators) is providing lunch to trail workers.
Saturday nite's cook-out and bonfire is for anyone that has helped with trail work whether they worked 1 day or all 3 days. This will be at Krupp's Resort with food provided and prepared by Richard & Sandy. It is BYOB. Feel free to wear boots if you want as it gets pretty deep-the stories will roll.
If you happen to live within driving area and don't need lodging, please call 906-288-3404 to let us know what days you will be able to help so we can organize work groups ahead of time. If you have already made contact with us, you don't need to call again.
The other reason we ask that you let us know is so we have an idea on how many lunches need to be prepared for Friday and again for Saturday. Also, so we have an idea on how many will be coming for the Sat. nite cook-out.
Thanks.
