Unless Skidoo drops the price of their full synthetic oil I will be switching my 2010 600 etec over to Sea & Snow this year. I've always ran the Doo semi-synthetic in it but they just stopped making that this spring apparently.

They recommend only using doo full synthetic. Its all we have ever ran with zero issues in countless etec miles. Not worth the risk of cheap oil IMO. If I was gona run something else it would be full synthetic klotz or amsoil.

Actually BRP has called for semi-synthetic in some etecs and full-synthetic in other etecs.

Well their are only 2 etecs? 600 and 800. Unless ur talking boat engines. We have been told by our trusted doo dealer to run full synthetic in the etecs only.

After thinking about I think at one point they did reccomend semi for the 600 etecs or full. 800s have always been full only. I think the latest recommendations is to run full on the 600s to. But the 600 u may be able to get away with semi...personally I wouldnt. The 4 600etecs in our group run full and have had no issues. Its a better oil and will keep the raves cleaner.

Why pay for costly engine then try to save money on oil. I buy my oil in summer, when I go by dealer I will buy a gallon. How much oil do you use [1 qrt] a day? I have two sleds that have over 15,000 miles and have never had anything but OEM oil in them, 1 Has 135# comp the other 130# comp, never had a cyl head off. How much doe a rebuild cost, compared to better oil?

Yea I'm talking about the etech sleds. I don't know what year they switched their verbage, but I think it was the first couple of years that they recommended the semi, then they started recommending full, now they are not even going to offer semi any more. It's not a coincidence, it's all about the benjamins. Lots of both 600s and 800s are running around burning semi with no issues as well.
