Default Interactive hour-by-hour retelling of Edmund Fitzgerald's final voyage

    Hello.

Tomorrow is the 45th anniversary of the Fitz going down, so I was looking up some information on her final voyage. I stumbled across this NOAA website, which I found interesting. There is nothing particularly new here, but I like the way the information is presented. You may (or may not!) find it as interesting as I did.

Wikipedia has some extensive documentation. Pull up a chair with an adult beverage and enjoy the read.

I remember driving across the U.P. the summer of 1976. Must have heard that song 3 times every hour! That song is a real classic.

Hands down the best ballad of ALL TIME! when they would have that special on the Edmund Fitzgerald on TV and at the end when each of the family members would walk up and ring the ships bell as the song played it was almost haunting! Crazy to think a body of water other than an ocean could swallow a ship of that magnitude.

I'm from southern MN and last summer while we were driving through Duluth on our way to Grand Marais and just started heading up the North Shore when this gem of a song came on. The wife and three teenagers groaned as I kept it on the station for the entire song..... I loved it.
